Assisted Living Houses
Next door to the Tui units we have two houses which cater for people who can live relatively independently and need minimal assistance. We provide one cooked meal a day. Residents are expected to be able to make their own breakfast, carry out basic house keeping chores such as bed making and keeping their room tidy. The houses are not suitable for people who require home help or significant nursing input.
Overview
For alternatively funded clients we can provide a package of care option.
Rent
Does not include telephone charges. Rental is negotiated on an individual basis starting at $350 per week.
Meals
3 meals and 3 snacks per day on a monthly rotating dietitian approved menu.To live in the houses you should be able to complete basic kitchen skills independantly.
Housekeeping
Also includes bi-monthly full clean incorporating windows etc.
Laundry
RN/caregiver on call
The assisted living houses are for those who are relatively independant. Our Registered nurse is available in emergency situations.
General Practitioner
GP visits and regular health checks. We will cover the cost of 1 GP visit every 10 weeks. If you require more GP visits than this then it is your responsibility to cover the cost
Podiatrist
Available bi monthly for $25.00 per visit
Medication management
Includes filling of prescriptions by our pharmacy. All subsidized medications are covered only. The houses are not suitable for you if you cannot manage your medications independantly.
Showering supervision
You must be able to shower independantly.
Activities Programme
We have information available about a variety of activities the community offers. Some rest home events are open for the assisted living house residents also
Notes
Costings of the above are determined on an individual basis dependent on the amount of staffing hours considered to be appropriate for each client.
